My New Favorite Book

The Girl’s Like Spaghetti: Why, You Can’t Manage without Apostrophes!I’m in love. I am in love and I’m not ashamed to say it. I have fallen in love with a punctuation book. A CHILDREN’S punctuation book, to be precise. About the importance of the apostrophe. Yup. It’s called The Girl’s Like Spaghetti: Why, You Can’t Manage without Apostrophes! by Lynn Truss. Now kids can enjoy proper usage, too! So creative! As an example, “The girl’s like spaghetti” shows two pictures. One with girls enjoying spaghetti (without the apostrophe) and then an illustration of what the phrase actually means, by showing a girl who is really skinny and wavy with thin pasta-looking hair (the girl IS LIKE spaghetti.) GET IT?! It’s genius! I read the book to Dina this morning, while she was still in bed, and I was gushing. I actually had tremendously high expectations for this book, and it didn’t disappoint. You should buy it. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
