Every week (or however frequently I decide to do this), I intend to direct people to a website I consider hilarious, noteworthy, or otherwise just a barrel of laughs. You may know some of them, or all of them, but I want to share the sites I love most. This site is a definite winner.

Today’s website is Cake Wrecks.

New York Yankees City Hall Plaza Ceremony Ticket Giveaway – Click here

The enrollment period for the ticket giveaway to the New York Yankees City Hall Plaza Ceremony will be held today, Thursday, November 5th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Each winner will receive two (2) tickets. Please visit again between those hours.

There have been reports in the past of fraudulent offers for tickets to the parade – including access to floats – and to the ceremony. There are no tickets or passes to any portion of the parade, and any such offers are fake. Ceremony tickets are not for resale. If you are aware of any tickets or passes being sold, please call 311.

Those unable to get access to City Hall Plaza can still get in on the action. The sidewalks lining the parade route along Broadway from Battery Place to Chambers Street are open to all members of the public, and the City will set up a large screen near City Hall Park for members of the public to watch the subsequent ceremony.

They’re actually kind of gross looking – a little like GIANT rats. Yuck. The zookeepers at the German zoo where the bears live have no idea what happened. The article is here if you want to read more.

Sesame Street, a show upon which millions have grown up, turns forty November 10th. That’s really amazing. It’s aired in 140 countries. I don’t even know if I could name that many countries. The folks at Google have honored the furry folks today by using this image to make sure everryyyyyone knows about it. Here is the US version.

When I got the swine, I just got it. No idea how or from where or whom. This person, apparently, decided to get in a few shots at the person who might be spreading it around. If I met the person that was kind enough to share the H1N1 with me, I might scowl at them, or at least wag my finger disapprovingly in their general direction. Tsk tsk.

“There’s long sketches, there’s parodies, there’s quick one-offs,” Mr. Swardson said. “That’s kind of how my standup is — stories and one-liners and stupid jokes about drinking. And then I go into a real story of my life.”

The series (which doesn’t have a title yet, though Mr. Swardson said he was leaning toward “Pretend Time With Nick Swardson”) will not have a fixed ensemble, and will cast different actors for each skit. “I don’t have the hubris to make every sketch revolve around me,” he added. “I don’t have to be in every single minute of the show.”

Among the writers and producers contributing to the show, Mr. Swardson said, were Horatio Sanz (of “Saturday Night Live”), Tom Gianis (“Human Giant”), Brian Posehn (“Mr. Show With Bob and David”) and Greg Cohen (“Late Night With Conan O’Brien”).
