My intent when I first listened to the CD was to determine whether she garnered her acclaim because of her less-than-stellar looks or whether even if I listened "with my ears", as you put it, I would still be equally enamored. As it turns out, the conclusion I reached was that it was more the surprise of the voice/appearance combination than the pure talent. To say she doesn't have a lovely voice wouldn't be true, but in my opinion, she doesn't have nearly the amazing voice that some say she has. I guess we disagree about that. Her voice is so clear and beautiful and I look forward to her next CD. I have played this CD so many times and have enjoyed every minute listening to it. By the way, who cares what an artist looks like? Does it really matter? Her voice and soul are beautiful, and that is all that matters. I listen with my ears and not my eyes.
